Rep. Wiley Nickel, a member of the U.S. Congress representing North Carolina's 13th district, recently shared his thoughts on social media regarding significant political and environmental issues. On November 21, 2024, he posted a series of tweets addressing topics such as gerrymandering and hurricane relief efforts in Western North Carolina.

On November 21, Rep. Nickel tweeted about his ongoing efforts to address gerrymandering on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives. He stated: "Right now, I’m speaking on the floor of the US House of Representatives about the damage gerrymandering has done to our democracy." He encouraged viewers to tune in to CSPAN for more information.

In another tweet posted at the same time, Rep. Nickel addressed the ongoing challenges faced by families and businesses in Western North Carolina following Hurricane Helene. He criticized a bill proposed by the NCGOP, stating: "Western NC families and businesses are still reeling from Hurricane Helene. Under the guise of funding needed relief, the NCGOP are pushing a power grab." He expressed concern that less than six percent of necessary funds were being allocated to affected North Carolinians while suggesting that it allowed room for damaging state institutions.
