Cary, NC – With 51% tree canopy cover and 83% of that canopy coverage existing on privately owned land, Cary is partnering with citizens to take an active role in the strategy and management of its urban forest. Now through December 6, citizens can review the draft Urban Forest Master Plan, a document that strives to set long-term strategies that guide the community’s day-to-day conservation efforts. The draft plan is rooted in data and crafted from multi-year engagements with citizens. All comments will be considered prior to presenting the draft plan for Town Council adoption in winter 2024.
