Cary, NC – Some Town of Cary services and operations will change next week in observance of the Labor Day holiday on Monday, September 4. Cary Town Hall and offices, including community centers and most staffed recreation and cultural arts facilities, and the Citizen’s Convenience Center will close on Labor Day. On Labor Day, GoCary fixed routes will be operating on a Sunday-level schedule with only Tier I Door-to-Door service. Normal operations will resume as listed on each community center’s webpage on Tuesday, September 5.
Curbside collection will be one day later for all citizens the week of September 4.
The Bond Park Boathouse will open and operate on normal hours (10 a.m. – 6 p.m.) through the weekend and Labor Day, while the Cary Tennis Park clubhouse will operate on limited hours (8 a.m. – 6 p.m.) on Sunday and closed Monday, with court hours as normal on Labor Day.
A reminder to all who plan to celebrate at home by firing up a grill or a deep fryer – please do it safely. Properly dispose of any cooking fats, oils and crease by taking advantage of Cary’s FOG Control program. The program gives Cary citizens an opportunity to properly dispose of those byproducts of home cooking by requesting a special collection. Simply place cooled, used cooking oil and greaser in a plastic screw-top container and once at least half-gallon (approximately one, 2 liter soda bottle) is collected, label the container “Used Cooking Oil” and visit carync.gov/311 or call 311 or (919) 469-4000 to schedule a free curbside pickup.
