Durham area artists and craftspeople who are hoping to turn their passion into their full-time job should apply now for Momentum 360: Arts Entrepreneurship Intensive.

This free cohort of the Momentum 360 program, a collaboration between the City of Durham Office of Economic and Workforce Development and Triangle Artworks, is now accepting applications and is designed to provide artists the business skills they need to making a living through their craft.

During the 10-week program, participants will learn about business planning and structure; networking skills; cash flow; production, costs and pricing; inventory; local resources; sales and promotions and more. Arts Entrepreneurship Intensive will be held from March 9 through May 18 via 10 online classes, each lasting two hours. This course will be fully virtual using Zoom, and all course materials will be delivered electronically.

The class will be instructed by Durham-based jeweler and silversmith Tiffany Coley, and artist and art educator Cynthia Deis. Coley brings to the course her deep knowledge of selling crafts at both retail and wholesale as well as how to create a focused product line. Deis will draw from her more than 25 years of experience creating and selling art and in running a retail crafts store and artist-focused pop-up markets around the Triangle.
