Wake County Public School System issued the following announcement on December 17.

This is a follow-up message for parents of students at Abbotts Creek Elementary, Durant Road Elementary, Durant Road Middle, and West Millbrook Middle.

Law enforcement have lifted the code yellow lockdown, and dismissal will now proceed as normal.

Students who go home via carpool may be picked up as usual.

Buses will begin transporting students home at the regular dismissal time.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this unexpected event. We are grateful for the efforts of law enforcement to protect our students and our community.
