Triangle J Council of Government recently issued the following announcement.
After months of negotiation, the North Carolina General Assembly (NCGA) approved a $25.9 billion state budget with substantial bipartisan support. In addition to allocating state revenue funds, the budget appropriates $5.4 billion that the state received under the Federal American Rescue Plan, as well as includes various policy changes.
The NC Association of Regional Councils of Government, on behalf of the state's 16 regional councils, will receive direct funding for two key areas of local assistance and coordination.
$10 million to assist with American Rescue Plan (ARPA) Local Recovery Funds
$6 million to assist with disaster recovery, resilience, and mitigation.
This investment will enable TJCOG to increasingly provide strategic guidance, technical support, and regionally tailored resources to our communities in the next few years.
