The North Carolina Department of Transportation has been crafting plans to make some intersections in Harnett County less dangerous.

And, those designs appear to be finally coming to fruition.

State Sen. Jim Burgin (R-Harnett) posted to his Facebook page on Oct. 14 about the coming changes to intersections in Harnett County.

Two Sheriff Johnson Road intersections were slated to become all-way stops in October, Burgin said in his Facebook post. They include the intersection of Sheriff Johnson Road and Johnson Farm Road and the crossing of Sheriff Johnson Road and Neils Creek Road.

Burgin also posted that Red Hill Church Road at Ashe Avenue's intersection became an all-way stop.

In addition to drawing attention to the effort the state's Department of Transportation has made in addressing residents' concerns, Burgin used the post to urge his constituents to be mindful of the changes while driving.

"Please note these changes so we can continue to make our roads safer," he stated in the post.
