The Town of Holly Springs has completed the replacement of synthetic turf on the Ting Park multipurpose fields. The project, which finished last month, was scheduled to allow for practice ahead of the fall sports season.

The upgraded fields now have a thicker carpet and permanent lines designed for soccer and lacrosse across various age groups. The total area covered by the new turf is 183,300 square feet.

“These fields are in use almost constantly,” said Adam Huffman, Assistant Director of Holly Springs Parks & Recreation. “We’re happy that the project was completed quickly, over the course of five weeks, during a time of year that falls between sports seasons.”

Ting Park’s multipurpose fields are available not only for organized practices and games but also offer open play hours for community members.

Other locations in Holly Springs where residents can play include the multipurpose turf field at Womble Park, a grassy field beside the Hunt Center across Stinson Avenue from Womble Park’s turf field, as well as natural and multipurpose fields behind Holly Ridge Elementary and Holly Springs Elementary School. These school-adjacent fields are accessible due to a joint-use agreement between the Town and local schools.
