Tickets are now available for the upcoming World Rugby Nations Cup match between the USA Eagles and Spain, scheduled for July 18 at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, according to an April 9 announcement.

The event marks the return of international rugby to Cary after more than ten years, serving as the final stop of the inaugural World Rugby Nations Cup U.S. series following earlier matches in Denver and Charlotte. The match will take place at First Horizon Stadium within WakeMed Soccer Park.

John Collins, Cary’s Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Director, said, “We’re thrilled to welcome international rugby back to WakeMed Soccer Park for the first time in more than a decade. This match brings another high-level international event to a facility built to host it, and we can’t wait for all the fans to experience it here in Cary.”

Cary previously hosted the NACRA Sevens Championships at WakeMed Soccer Park in 2015. During that tournament, the USA Rugby Men’s Eagles Sevens secured their place in the 2016 Summer Olympics with a win over Canada.

This year’s World Rugby Nations Cup features twelve national teams competing across two pools of six during both July and November international windows. Organizers say this structure is designed to create consistent and meaningful competition ahead of the 2027 Rugby World Cup. All matches will be broadcast live on Paramount+ for U.S. viewers and globally via RugbyPass TV.

WakeMed Soccer Park continues its role as a key venue for major sports events throughout 2026. The facility is home to resident teams such as NC Courage—the women’s professional soccer team—and hosts events including The Soccer Tournament (TST), The Cary Cup youth soccer tournament, and NCAA Division I Women’s and Men’s soccer championships later this year.

Cary is recognized as a growing community with around 190,000 residents from more than sixty nationalities. It has been ranked by U.S. News & World Report as North Carolina’s best place to live and fifth nationally for 2025–2026 due to its neighborhoods, greenways, environmental efforts, sports venues, and public investments.
