On November 25, 2024, Rep. Nickel hosted a financial event aimed at small business owners within NC13. The event focused on providing information about available resources and federal programs. According to Rep. Nickel, "Today, my office hosted a financial event for small business owners in NC13 who wanted to learn more about resources available to them. We shared some best practices, federal programs, and made great connections!"

Later that day, he addressed the issue of partisan gerrymandering on the House floor while discussing his proposed legislation known as the Fair Maps Act. In his speech, Rep. Nickel emphasized the need for bipartisan cooperation by stating that "There’s no incentive for Democrats and Republicans to work together when 90% of the seats are safe for Republicans and Democrats."
