Saturday Lane Closures on Holly Springs Road

Temporary lane closures will be in place on Holly Springs Road between Arthur Pierce Road and Winding Oak Way on Saturdays in July and August while crews work to rehabilitate a sewer line in the area. The traffic shift is planned to be in place on Saturdays only from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and flaggers will be in place to direct traffic during these times. A normal traffic pattern can be expected Sunday through Friday.

Performances at the Page: Celebration of Bluegrass

The all-American sound of Bluegrass returns to the Page-Walker for a summer celebration! This concert features up-and-coming young artist Carly Arrowood, with students of Bluegrass Jam Camp as the opening act. Cary Downtown Farmers Market

200 E. Chatham Street, Downtown Cary, 8 a.m. to noon

Join the Cary Downtown Farmers Market at its temporary location at the parking lot of The Perfect Piece each Saturday. Find a wonderful lineup of vendors offering all locally made and locally grown items. Shop for freshly harvested produce, humanely raised meat, and artisan-made goods. Stop by the info booth to learn about their matching program for SNAP/EBT. Children can also get their very own Farmers Market Passport and participate in the Eat-A-Rainbow program, which encourages children to eat healthy, nutritious foods. Parking for the new location can be found at the public parking lot behind the Methodist Church (off Walker St. and Waldo St.). Based on a major exhibition at the Ashmolean in Oxford, Tokyo Stories spans 400 years of incredibly dynamic art – ranging from the delicate woodblock prints of Hokusai and Hiroshige, to Pop Art posters, contemporary photography, Manga, film, and brand-new artworks that were created on the streets. Pickleball Ball

The Legacy of Jazz Concert: The Prince of Cool

The Cary Theater, 3 p.m.

Join us for an evening celebrating the velvet vocals and soaring trumpet of jazz icon Chet Baker with Benny Benack III. Benny who has proven to be the rarest of talents, not only a fiery trumpet player with a stirring command of the postbop trumpet vernacular, but also a singer with a sly, mature, naturally expressive delivery in the post Sinatra mold performing standards and his own astute songs with a thrilling sense of showmanship.
