Traffic Alert: Closures in Downtown Cary for Annual Water Main Replacement Project

  • Cary continues work on its annual Water Main Replacement project and portions of Harrison Avenue near W. Chatham Street and Dry Avenue as well as portions of W. Park Street will be impacted over the coming months.
  • Local traffic should use adjacent streets to detour; through traffic should consider using Maynard Loop.
  • Cary annually and proactively replaces aging water mains to prevent unexpected service interruptions and costly repairs; citizens can follow Cary on social media for related project closure updates over the coming months.

CARY, N.C. - Cary continues work on its annual Water Main Replacement project. Starting Monday, May 22, S. Harrison Avenue from W. Chatham Street to Dry Avenue will be closed continuously through August 2023. Additionally, W. Park Street from S. West Street to S. Academy Street will continue to be closed through June 2023. Local traffic should use adjacent streets to detour; through traffic should consider using Maynard Loop. The total project work is expected to last through Spring 2024 and will require other closures in the same vicinity; citizens can follow Cary on social media for related closure updates.
