Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations continue! Walnut Creek Elementary welcomed parents and the community to its Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration on Sept. 23.
To prepare for the event, each grade level was assigned a country of Hispanic heritage and culture on which to focus. For example, kindergartners learned about Cuba, and created a Cuban flag to display, along with jewelry and symbols.
A local dance instructor performed, and invited students onstage to participate. Parents were invited to the school to check out their students' and others’ artwork. And Walnut Creek used the occasion to provide parents with resources to help support their children’s education.
