Falcon Love is the best love. Congratulations to former Miss SAU Darnella Reeder, ‘15 and former Student Trustee Justin Miller, ‘15 on their engagement! Read their story below:

“Where it all started! While some people see a building shell, we see home. #SAU, where we not only met but became who we are today. Stay with me real quick - history lesson: St. Agnes is a historic landmark on Saint Augustines University campus in Raleigh, NC, built by St. Aug students and freed slaves. In the early 1900s, this was one of the ONLY well-equipped hospitals that served African Americans in the Southeast. Not only were many lives saved here, but opportunities for our people were created.

That’s why this engagement shoot meant so much to us. It’s a constant reminder that we are our ancestor's wildest dreams, we are #blackexcellence, and we are proud of our #blacklove that started on THIS #HBCU campus. (Plus, it looks like a bomb art piece) SAU is not just the place we met but the family that fostered the people we are today. Our wedding theme is #comingtocarolina, and this shoot was a perfect way to capture a piece of that!
