City of Raleigh issued the following announcement on March 2.

Improvements Underway to Address Community Needs 

Raleigh, in Partnership with Shaw University, hosted a series of Courageous Community Conversations in 2021 to talk about the challenges facing our city. Shaw University’s Center for Racial and Social Justice has incorporated findings from that series into a report that provides potential policy solutions. Here is how the City of Raleigh’s ongoing work supports progress in key areas of equity and inclusion: 

Affordable Housing

Zoning Reform

Transportation

Criminal Justice Reforms

Mental Health  

Education and Workforce Development

The City is committed to continual improvement toward a future where all members of our community can thrive.
