City of Raleigh issued the following announcement on January 5.
John Chavis Memorial Park presents King Day: A Celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Birthday on January 17, 2022, from 12-3 p.m. This event will showcase Dr. King’s work, the history of how the national holiday came to be, children’s arts and crafts, an outdoor civil rights scavenger hunt, and more! Food trucks and refreshments will be available for purchase.
