Town of Apex recently issued the following announcement.

Apex Follows Wake County Restrictions Regarding Playgrounds

In accordance with new restrictions set forth by Wake County put in place to help slow the spread of COVID-19, all playgrounds within Apex parks will be closed through April 30th. The restrictions also apply to privately-owned playgrounds, salons, fitness centers, and more.

Mayor Jacques Gilbert signed a declaration in accordance with the County’s actions on March 22nd.

"This unified approach with Wake County and other municipal partners is a critical step in our efforts to mitigate risks for our community," said Mayor Gilbert. "The new prohibitions and recommendations outlined in the Declaration provide another level of precautions and opportunity for our community members to work together to enhance safety."

Other parks spaces including greenways, trails, open space, and restroom facilities will remain open. Parks visitors are encouraged to continue social distancing of at least 6 feet apart from other visitors, wash hands frequently, and to stay home if not feeling well. Signs outlining these precautions will be posted throughout Town parks as reminders.
