Fuquay-Varina issued the following announcement on Mar. 13.
Mayor Declares State of Emergency
Citizens,
The current situation with the Coronavirus is quickly evolving. I want to assure citizens that I have been and remain in constant contact with our Town Manager regarding Town operations. Pursuant to Town Code, I have delegated authority to our Town Manager to make operational and administrative decisions during this time of crisis. Our goal will be to continue to deliver Town government services, especially those that are most critical. The Town of Fuquay-Varina will continue to work closely with our partners at Wake County to support Wake County Public Health in protecting the health of Town residents. As such, the Town of Fuquay-Varina has joined all other Wake County municipalities in the Wake County State of Emergency Declaration.
I appreciate your support and patience as we work through this together as a community.
Sincerely,
John W. Byrne
