The Town of Morrisville has announced the appointment of Justin Rosser as its new Chief of Police. Rosser, who brings 21 years of law enforcement experience, has spent the last 17 years in Apex, where he advanced to the rank of Captain. His background includes roles in patrol, training, and professional standards, as well as leadership in various administrative divisions.
Rosser is set to start his role on June 23 and will officially take command on July 3. A swearing-in ceremony is planned for July 2.
“Chief Rosser is an experienced law enforcement professional who is the right choice and the right fit to lead the nationally accredited Morrisville Police Department,” said Brandon Zuidema, Town Manager. “Chief Rosser brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that will allow him to effectively step in as our next Chief of Police. He is a humble leader who will work collaboratively with our staff to continue to advance the department while focusing on effective community engagement and public safety, employee support and development, and a high quality of life for our community members. I am excited to have Chief Rosser join the Morrisville team and lead our Police Department.”
Rosser was selected through a competitive hiring process that included an assessment center and formal interviews with Senior Leadership staff. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Campbell University, an MBA from Southern New Hampshire University, and completed the Administrative Officers Management Program at North Carolina State University.
