The Town Council has approved a new service offering on-demand yard waste cart pickups for a fee of $15 per additional collection. This decision, made at a recent Council meeting, will supplement the regular bi-weekly yard waste collection that continues throughout the year. Residents can request extra pickups by contacting 311 or using the designated application.

“The Town anticipates that optional extra cart collections will be convenient for some Holly Springs residents, especially those with larger yards who don’t want to wait until their scheduled yard waste collection day,” commented Freddie Rodriguez, Solid Waste Division Manager with Holly Springs Public Works. He further explained that once a request is received, the Public Works crews will collect the waste within the next two business days. The additional charge will be added to the resident’s next utility bill.

Apart from these services, the Town will continue with the regular bi-weekly yard waste cart collection. Furthermore, during the fall and winter months, vacuum trucks will provide leaf collection at no additional cost to residents.

The Yard Waste Convenience Center located off Rex Road offers another option for residents looking to dispose of excessive yard waste at no charge. Residents must present proof of Holly Springs residence, such as a driver’s license or utility bill, to use these services.
