As autumn approaches, the Town of Holly Springs is preparing for increased yard waste and leaf collection. Public Works crews will begin the Fall Yard Waste Sweep during the week of October 13. Residents are encouraged to place any amount of acceptable yard waste at the curb by Sunday, October 12, for free collection.

The annual leaf season collection will run from October 27, 2025, to February 27, 2026. During this period, leaves that do not fit in yard waste carts can be placed at the edge of front yards for collection. Town vacuum trucks will pick up leaves left behind the curb each month during each zone’s scheduled collection week. The Town will monitor neighborhoods with large amounts of leaves and address them as needed to keep streets clear. Regular biweekly yard waste cart collection will continue throughout the season.

Residents who miss the sweep or have more yard waste than their cart can hold can use the Yard Waste Convenience Center, located off Rex Road, for no additional charge. Those needing excessive yard waste collection can call 311 or (919) 577-3111 to request the service for an additional fee.

“Place any volume of acceptable yard waste at the curb on Sunday, Oct. 12 for fee-free collection during the week.”
