Governor Josh Stein has appointed Satish S. Garimella, the Mayor Pro Tem of Morrisville, to the North Carolina Information Technology Strategy Board. This three-year appointment acknowledges Garimella’s expertise in business systems technology and his commitment to public service and innovation in both Morrisville and North Carolina.

The Information Technology Strategy Board, established in 2019 by the North Carolina General Assembly, plays a crucial role in developing the state’s technology infrastructure. The board is responsible for defining and planning statewide enterprise IT projects, advising on their prioritization, identifying critical funding needs, and ensuring alignment with industry best practices.

Garimella has over two decades of experience in IT and data analytics leadership. He currently works as the Senior Technical Product Manager at GSK, where he has delivered high-impact enterprise solutions by combining technical knowledge with strategic insight.

Beyond his professional career, Garimella is an active civic leader. He has served three terms on the Morrisville Town Council and held positions on the North Carolina League of Municipalities Board of Directors, the WakeMed Health and Hospitals Board of Directors, and the North Carolina Workforce Education Unit. His appointment reflects his technical skills and dedication to improving life for North Carolinians through effective governance.
